Where is he buried
« on: Thursday 07 August 14 11:44 BST (UK) »
Having found one of my missing Clarke babies.
I found that he was born in 1877 at Hydes Pasture Hinckley.
His name is Walter George Clarke the son of Thomas and Sarah.
He sadly died age 7 -  So I wondered if anyone may know, where he could be buried.
A lot of the family are in Barwell graveyard.

He also had a brother who died in infancy Arthur John Clarke born 1881 died 1883
So maybe they are buried together somewhere.  ?

There is also one more missing baby yet to find.... (counted on 1911)

So just hoping someone can tell me where to look?

thanks

xin

Little Charles was born

Births Mar 1883
Clarke    Charles Zadok A        Hinckley    7a   77

and Arthur John

Births Sep 1881
Clarke    Arthur John        Hinckley    7a   64

So datewise it would be possible for them to have been brothers.

Lovely - but what a strange name, no trace of Zadok anywhere else in the family.

Off now to order cert...

Let us know if it is the right one, fingers crossed.

I dont know about you, but I always feel I have achieved something when I find children who have died young and am able to give them their rightful place on my family tree. I feel then that they are not forgotten.

Yes Jan, me too...

It is lovely to think that we have managed to bring their memory back... bless them.

So now awaiting certificate... fingers crossed.

Am curious also to see the cause of death for the boys... So thats another couple of certs.

This wonderful lady Sarah Clarke my g.g.grandmother (maternal side) was born in 1841 - in Shenton.  She had 8 children in all ....

Sarah Elizabeth - who I knew quiet well she was the matriarch of my family. 1867 - 1957
Sarah was known as Auntie Lizzie and she didnt have children.

Then there was Thomas 1871 - 1945 Now he was never mentioned in the family at all ... until I started my research, I had no idea of his existence... He did have quiet a large family.

Then Eliza 1873 - 1929 married and moved to Canada where she did have children and the family was very proud of how she settled out there.

Then MY gt. Nan Alice 1875 - 1911 sadly she died of TB - however not before she had produced
My Nan and her siblings.

There are then the two babies that, between us on Roots we have  found and I have mentioned above.. Walter and Arthur bless them never ever spoken of and without the 1911 I would never have known of their existence.
now there is the possibility of little baby Charles..  :-* fingers crossed on that one.

So it seems like after 3 very sad little ones leaving us.. she waited a while and then had

Ernest he was born in 1889 and then sadly died in 1918 WW1.. he had married and had a son Ernest jnr.

The Newspaper report of his death states that the shock of hearing the news caused Sarah to also pass away..

Bless her  - I can just about imagine - how she must have felt.   Poor lady - Now I hope to have found her children and if she is watching I bet she is 'chuffed'  ..... :) :)

Just a query Groom, was there anyone else in the same grave?

We hope to get to Barwell within the next month to have another look around and erect (if they let me) a little note of recognition for my G. Nan - as I know where she is buried -but there is no acknowledgement of her being there... which annoys me.
