Possible marriage in St Margarets, Leicester.
« on: Wednesday 20 August 14 15:15 BST (UK) »
In FreeBMD, Sep Q 1849, Leicester 15 169, 8 people are listed for the marriages.  I think these marriages took place in St Margarets, Leicester, and I am trying to find out who Joseph Brown married (ideally Mary Brown) in which case it would be worth getting the cert.

Failing that is there any other way I can work out who married who?

Check the 1851 census for the men's names and see who they married.  :) May not work if several have the same first name.  :)

Thanks Ruskie, I tried, but didn't have much success.  With 2 Josephs and 2 Marys in the list it would still be difficult to know which one was which. :)

Here you go, this is one marriage

1849   02-Sep   All Saints
BROWN   Joseph   Leicester
REDSHAW   Sarah Ann

The other for a Joseph Brown is a register office, so no details I'm afraid

Thanks Willsy, that surprised me a little bit as Sarah Redshaw wasn't one of the names in my list.  When I double checked it on FreeBMD, they have transcribed the name as John Brown.

Thanks for looking anyway.  If it is a register office I might have to get the cert to be sure.
