Edward Tranter born abt. 1755

I am trying trace the birth of an ancestor of my wife, Edward Tranter, who was born in Staffordshire about 1755 but I do not know where. He died on 28th December 1841. I think he married someone called Ann. I know he had a son called Edward (wife Jane) who was born about 1784 in Staffordshire.  This Edward the son lived in West Bromwich during part of his life where his children were born (William, Daniel and Betsy).

If any one can help me find out more about the two Edwards it would be very much appreciated.

Hi, I've been digging around trying to get info about Edward Tranter But seem to have landed on a different Edward to yours which shows how tricky records are! I haven't found anything about Daniel but I did find William and Betsy (Elizabeth).

According to parish records on Find My Past there was an Edward Tranter baptised 16/8/1751 at St Peter's, Wolverhampton. Father was John Tranter. That was the only one who appeared during the period 1750 to 1760 in Staffordshire on that site.

hello the tranters i know come from darlaston  NOAH Tranter 1801  1880  and maybe they where boatman on the canals & one owed the kings hill football ground  in wednesbury

From Free Reg: Edward Traunter son of Samuel & Susannah baptised 1 Dec 1750 at Bloxwich All Saints Staffs.

As you probably know places like Bloxwich, Wolverhampton. West Bromwich and Darlaston are all pretty close.

This topic caught my eye because currently I'm researching my wife's Staffordshire Tra(u)nters and associated Yates family, coincidentally around the same time frame as your Edward, hers are mainly West Bromwich and Darlaston, so far!

Do you have him?
If he died Dec 1841 he should appear.
