Very interesting Willow.

There's an abundance of names here and it really throws a light on the every day life of the time.
I noticed that a nurse was admonished for hitting a child. Doesn't sound much like Charles Dickens!

well done willow!, I have an aunt who was born in Wolverhampton workhouse (the bilston road one) and even found a pic of the staff and the "Master" who signed her birth cert in google LOL

I know Pat Galloway is responsible for transcribing the parish records that are available on the Wolverhampton website so she may be responsible for this as well

was that Masters name ej sattin? (or somethign very close to ..)

he was the name who registered the birth of one o my lines at wolverhamptn workhouse
