Henry Potter 1861 census
« on: Monday 29 September 14 16:37 BST (UK) »
Hello I'm trying to find Henry Potter in the 1861 census.
He was born in Upavon (Uphaven) in Wiltshire in 1841, parents John and Elizabeth. The area is also known as Pewsey or maybe Rushall.
He married Amelia Jane Lee in 1867 at Havant, Hampshire. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Hi all, in 1861, John 58 Elizabeth 54 Stephen 17 and Sarah Ann 8 are on RG09/1307/73/10 and John 68 Elizabeth 65 and Sarah A 18 on 1871 RG10/1938/21/6

Just wondering if Henry was in the Army in 1861?

Thanks for your help.  Yes Henry's birthplace in the 1851 census is Rushall.  The census registration is district Pewsey and there's no address. It just says Rushall. There's John and Elizabeth with their children Emma 16, John 14, Henry 10 and Stephen 7.
Maybe his absence, as you say, due to him being in the army. If he was in hospital he'd probably show up on a list of hospital patients wouldn't he?   Thanks for the 1861 and 1871 census information for his family.  :)
