I thought i had this line on my tree pretty much tied up but a fellow amateur geneologist has thrown a spanner in my works!! I had meant to purchase certs at a later date (my paternal grandmothers line needed money spending on certs and couldnt afford all i needed) My paternal grandfathers line, i believe, goes like this;
Derek stainforth 1929-1999 (listed staniforth on freebmd) m. (1953) Brenda wilkinson 1931-2007
Frederick stainforth 1899-1961 m. (1923) isabella stacey 1900-?
George stainforth 1869-1943 m. (1889) mary jane shaw 1868-1961
George stainforth 1839 (basford,notts) -1907 m. (Sept 9 1860, basford) ann allen 1841-1884 basford
George senior was the illigitimate son of mary stainforth, who later married a matthew burton in basford.
The person who i have been in contact with believes his family also desend from George stainforth senior, but his George married a lady called Emma and the family remained in basford. I have now ordered Fredericks marriage cert to check his father was george stainforth (stone mason). My subscriptions have now lapsed so i only hav access to the free sites. On the 1881 census i can see george senior living in sheffield with ann and their children. Can anyone access the other censuses to see which one of us is on the right lines with our family tree? I can also see a george stainforth on freecen 1891 living with his wife Emma, his dob would have been c.1864 though, and the corresponding birth on freebmd is under George stainforth, born basford.
I know i am asking a lot, but i feel it just needs a fresh pair of eyes to look over it as i am sure we must be missing something!! Any help would be much appreciated, thank u so much for reading 😃😃😃
