Paternity dispute on an 1885 Scottish birth record -COMPLETED WITH THANKS

Need help with deciphering the following, many thanks.....


So far I've got....

In an ---- ----- to the paternity of a child named Elizabeth Wilson at the ---- ----- Elisabeth Wilson  ------ ----- residing at ----- Gartness in the parish of Shotts against David Simpson assistant ---- Dundee?? the sherriff o fthe court for favour on the 10th day of Oct 1855 found that the ssaid child born April 1st 1885 was the illegitimate child of the aforesaid.

Pretty awful isn't it?

...at the instance of ... (not sure that makes sense though) (possibly should be 'insistance'?) ... Elizabeth Brown(?) alias Wilson or Watson?
... assistant Draper ... (perhaps?)
I think there is a word before aforesaid too but cannot make it out (starts with a B).

Yep it's a humdinger!  The alias bit is interesting....but the names are hard to make out but thanks for having a bash really appreciate your help....

Not sure if I am correct with 'alias' - I will be interested to see others opinions.

Presumably this came from Scotland's People? It might be worth contacting them to see if they can produce a more legible copy - they are very accommodating.  :)

I've seen a high res copy and it's no more legible!  Hopefully there'll be more comments but think you're right with the alias the more I look at it!!!  ta

Might it say "in an action relating to the paternity of a child named Elizabeth Wilson at the instance of Elizabeth (Brown) alias Wilson ...."

Can't read some of the proper names, but ...

In an Action relating to the
Paternity of a child named Elis-
abeth Wilson at the instance of
Elisabeth (...)n alias Wilson
residing at (...) Gartness in
the Parish of Shotts against
David Simpson Assistant Draper
Dundee, the Sheriff of the Co(unty) of
Forfar on the 10th day of October
1863 found that the said Child
born April 1st 1855 was the il-
legimitate child of the Parties
aforesaid
