Hi All!

Sorry to revive what appears to be an old thread but I stumbled upon this site while doing research into the Eddles surname.

My mother is an Eddles from Bloefontein. Her father was Sydney James Eddles (1912 - 1991) and her grandfather was Edward Stabb Eddles.

I have a copy of Edward Stabb Eddles death certificate and it states that his father was Richard Eddles and his mother Caroline Lee. I believe that Richards parents were William and Rhoda. Am I correct? Has anyone managed to go further back at all? Would love to get as much info as possible

I just did a search on Eddles. I was born in South Africa but have lived in London for most of the last 18 years. My mother's maiden name was Shirley Eddles and she talked of the British Eddles family owning bakeries.
