Hi,
I wonder if there any definitive land holdings lists for Co.Carlow for the time period of the 18th. and 19th. century's,and if so how may I obtain such information.

            With thanks Diarmuid.

Griffiths valuation would give you both the landlord(owner) and farmer/occupier(tenant) for the middle of the 19th century. As fa as I am aware it covers the entire country with acreage, valuation, sub lets, etc etc.
Lots of detail and free to search.

Following on from the printed Griffith's Valuation are the Valuation Revision Books which you can use to track a property up until c1929. The ones for Northern Ireland counties are online (have a look at PRONI's site to get an idea of what they look like- http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/search_the_archives/val12b.htm) but ones for Carlow ar, as far as I know, in the archives in Dublin and not online.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
