Hello Jack

I might be related to your BLYTH's - my gt-grandfather was John BLYTH b 1859 to William BLYTH  (b 1830) and Ann MILLAR who married 1855 in Bridgend, Fife. Their marriage cert named William's parents as James BLYTH and Janet CARSWELL.   James died before 1851 (when Janet was already a widow) and I have to date no confirmation of his parentage - however, I believe he could be the son chr 1780 of Thomas BLYTH and Elspeth GREY;  Thomas being the son (per your tree and Bill's also) of William BLYTH and Elizabeth FAIRFULL.

John BLYTH (b1859) and his wife Agnes Christina Brown LATTO and children left Scotland in 1898 and emigrated to the Falkland Islands. I believe a brother of John's - Robert, probably went to the Pennsylvania USA a few years after that and another, Thomas went to Canada but eventually returned to Fife.

Hi my wife has Mackies in her  family tree.  We can trace back to Andrew Mackie b abt 1786 Kilconquhar he married Agnes Wallace in 1811 in the same place.  They had 11 children born between 1811-1835ish.  The one my wife is related to is Andrew Mackie born abt 1834 somewhere in Fife he married Christina Haxton in 1860 in Kennoway, Fife.  They had 4 children born between 1860-1872.  The 2nd daughter Christina married Andrew Anderson in 1886 in Carnbee.  Christina died in 1932.

Hope this helps and some names are on your tree as well

Hello djcrtoye,
Thanks for that.  They seem to be the right Mackie family but I have been unable to make a connection as yet.  I'll keep looking.

I am descended from a Andrew Mackie b. 1802 (parents John and Bell Mackie who married at St. Andrews and St. Leonards,Fife Dec. 9,1797).
Other children were:
Agnes       b.1799
Alexander b.1800
May           b.1804
William       b.1806
Janet          b.1807
Isabell        b.1811
Helen Thoms b.1811
John              b.1817
Andrew married Harriet Annal
I also have a Beveridge  born Auchtermuchy,Fife c. 1809 who married Francis Keay.
Do any of these people fit into the above families mentioned?.

Hello Ali,

Thanks for your message but my Blyths were mainly from the Markinch/Dysart/Kirkcaldy area and I've found no connection to the Blyths in Newburgh.  However, stay with this board because you will find a lot of very nice, helpful people on it.

Good luck with your research.

Kind regards,
Jack
