Mackay Mackenzie family

I would like to discover any information about this family.
They are in 1901 Census Ireland in Myrtle Hill Terrace Cork City.

Robert Mackay MacKenzie, Wife: Abigail, Sons, Robert , Alexander Thompson
John Kelly, Daughter Kathleen Ann
Robert senior occupation given as Commercial Traveller. I would like to discover what brought them to Cork at this time, they lived in a very large house & owned it, so I am inclined to think Robert may have been a merchant of some sort.

I have found their burial plots in St Finbarres Cemetery.  I am researching for their great grand-daughter whose grandfather was an older son James (didnt live in Ireland) the family had no idea that Robert & family lived in Ireland

The family originated in Iverness, Scotland & Abigails maiden name was Macausland.

By what route would the family have travelled to Ireland in late 1800's?  Are there any records to be sourced for Travel or occupation of Father.

Hope someone is able to assist me, have been able to obtain lots of information but just the few unanswered items I would like to discover.

1891 for Inverness shows Abigail as a commercial travellers wife but Robert is not in the household

Address was 5 Friars Place

Have you checked Scotlands People for their marriage as sight of the cert will give both sets of parents names plus mothers maiden names

This may be Abigail in 1881 - with parents.  All are surname McAuslan irrespective of any middle names
