Munro Gove
« on: Thursday 22 November 07 15:22 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to track down some records of Munro Gove. He was born some time around 1896ish, possibly in Stonehaven or Kinneff. His Mother was Bridget Watt, and his father was also Munro Gove. I believe he served with the Gordon Highlanders in WW1 and worked on the railway afterwards. His wife was an Elizabeth Spark, and they had no children.

Any info much appreciated.

Hi Isles,

That's the guy! I don't suppose there is a date in 1896 when he was born, is there?

I know his parents were married on 10th December 1897 in Dunnottar.

Is there a website that might give me his military records?

Thanks very much.

Jim

There's a medal card for Munro Gove on the National Archives website. I'd say he was your man. :)

Here's a link

Hi everyone, I have just posted somewhere else but i am not sure how these chats work so sorry for any repetition. Here is the info in case anyone can help me.

I am researching my husband's family tree. he is from Montrose. His maternal grandparents are David Gove b 30 Jan 1904 and Isabella Wallace Christieson b Upper Dysart 1905.

David Gove's parents: Alexander Gove 1866 and Jane Duguid 1867.
Isabella's - David christieson (son of James C and Helen Wilson) and Rachel wallace (james w and Violet stephen).

Can anyone help me follow up the christieson/wilson and Gove/Duguid lines?

Thanks so much, Alisan
