I'd be 99.99999999999999999999999 % Sure  ;D

If she wasn't a Portlaoise woman then she would have had to have gotten a dispensation, but she didn't so that means that she was 100% from the parish that was called Maryborough.

Yes, they are all children of Richard & Mary (surname of the Mum just mistranscribed)

So, looking at the GV Richard was NOT a farmer.

Depending on the part of the road, there were a few terraced two storey cottages, and further up some other little cottages,

Catherine would not recognise the street now I can tell you !

I wish I was there with you in Laois. :(
I was on a trip to Kilkenny over 10 yrs ago, the cast of Father Ted was there at the time but missed them.
Okay, I have to input this data. :) I'm 99.9% sure that your 99.9% sure Tara.
What a day eh?

Hi Tara,

Yes, the best day ever!! :)
What a nice ol' pic of Wells Road. Thank you. I will add it to my family tree.
Oh, what I would give to visit the Father Ted show?
My relatives are going to be extremely happy with this news. Unbelievable. I guess it gives
me another reason to revisit Ireland, not that I need one.

I'll be a busy boy tonight with all this data. lol

Talk to you anytime Tara.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Queen_s_Co_/Maryborough_Urban/The_Well_Road_formerly_New_Road/1649764/

My daughter has an Aird in her class at school and when she goes back in September I shall ask her Mum does she know was the Surname changed from Baird to Aird !

Enjoy filling in your tree !

How Cool that I found you Laois roots - HA who knows WHO that other woman is in 1861 in England that you shall have to cut mercilessly from your tree  ;D
