Hi Charlotte,
Stoney Royd is very likely for burials at that time. :) and the cemetery staff were very helpful when I visited recently.  :)

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

hi again Dobby,
Below are the 2 deaths I found on freebmdand I'd reckon one of them is mine.  It could be either depending  on birth date in year... maybe I'd better try to find her baptism to help sort that out.

~~~~~~~~
Deaths Mar 1893   (>99%)
~~~~~~~~

Hargreaves  Ann  71  Halifax  9a 283

~~~~~~~~
Deaths Sep 1896   (>99%)
~~~~~~~~

Hargreaves  Ann  73  Halifax  9a 260
=================================================

Thanks for all the info. I assume it is Ok to approach either Steve or Lenny and ask if they can cast light on this.  I don't want to be cheeky.

Re James Hargreaves- I think the March Q 1895 is most likely my James...
Hargreaves is such a common name worse luck.

I'll google now for Hx cem/Crem office email address  and try them  before asking others.

I really appreciate your help. Thanks,
charlotte

Hi Charlotte
If you don't find your burial information at least you can have a photo of the bit of road which disrupted their last resting place.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that great pic... do I conclude from what you say that the burial ground was at the front of the chapel where the steps are?

What is the approx distance between the chapel and the Crossley Almshouses?
