Hi
You are very welcome, seems a shame to leave them in albums where no one can see them.

Hello,
I am doing some research on the Army Bands School but can't access the photos - are they still available?

June,
I'm doing some part-time research with the Open University and am looking into the numbers and role of band boys in the British army in the interwar period (probably about two-thirds of the 7,500 full-time musicians in the army in the mid-1920s) and how/if they significantly contributed to the wider music profession.  No specific names.  I've been to the London Metropolitan Archives and British Library today and got some good documents but not so many photos.
Do you know about bands in other 'Industrial' type schools?  It seems most of these schools for orphans and those who've fallen on hard times had a thriving band for the employment of boys in the army.
I have some info on the Hanwell 'Cuckoo' school and Shaftesbury homes, but not much out of London.
David

June,
Thanks, these are fantastic.  Can I use some of them for my thesis and if so how should I credit them?
Regards,
David

Hi
You are welcome.
My great grandfather was the superintendent there and my g. grandmother the Matron, so just credit photos to Great Granddaughter, of Percy Lloyd King, Superintendent, if that sounds ok lol.
I hope it goes well with the Course, I will let you know if I find anything of interest, and please let me know if you find out any info
All the best
June
