Hello, I'm sorry to bother you with my problems because I'm sure you have hundreds of your own.
I have my ancestor in the 1841 census with my gt gt grandfather living in James Street, Row Dunbartonshire.
His wife Sarah I'm sure is RC because I found the children including my gt grandfather living with the Finnigan family b. Ireland in the 1951 census Renfrewshire and in England later Alexander b 1846 married in a RC church.
There's a family rumour that Alexander MacMillan and his wife born in Ireland died in a train accident. The children  Frances, Ann and Alexander were turned out of their home and walked to England. Alexander left Scotland after the 1861 census and turned up in the 1971 census in England living with his older sister Annie.
Was there a train accident? Where did Alexander and hid wife Sarah go to between Alexander's birth 1846/7 and 1851?

Hi folks,
I'm mid renovation of a couple of my rooms just now and the book is out of my reach.
I've marked the recent messages as 'unread' and will check the MI as soon as I'm able.
Probably at the weekend.
Dave

To icini and all that have posted before....
absolutely no problem for me to check as long as you dont mind waiting a short while.  My house still in a bit of disorder but should be able to get to the book again in 2 weeks, if not before.  I know exactly where it is but unless you all fancy coming to my house with paint brushes and sandpaper, you'll need to bear with me.  :P  ;D
