Hi Paul,
I wonder if you can track them down by apprenticeship records?
If Derbyshire Record Office has an apprenticeship index they might give lots of dates, and place information, etc which they might send, without charge.
Just a thought!
Paulene :)

Suz,
I wonder if you might know if the Ilkeston Local Studies Library has transcriptions of the Ilkeston St. Mary PRs - a fellow rootschatter, from Canada, has been trying to buy copies, but without success.
Thank you. :)

Just thought I'd mention that the Duffield church was used by Heanor people -although some distance away from heanor - it was kind of a "gretna green" for Heanor people -I think about that time the vicar was not so strict on who he would/would not marry/baptise and I think he performed baptisms/ marriages "out of opening hours"-i.e. not during/after a church service

Yes, and I've rung on his behalf, too. Perhaps it's the fact that it needs shipping to Canada that 's the problem. ???
I will check with Greg to see if anything has changed over the last couple of days, though.
Thanks.

Thanks Suz - he's been trying to get hold of them for a while now.
If I know they're at Ilkeston then I might be able to have a look through them for him next time I visit.
Thanks once again.
P.S. Fascinating about the vicar at Duffield!
