Completed: Marriage Mary BEARE
« on: Monday 25 June 07 14:11 BST (UK) »
I am hoping that someone may succeed where I have failed.

Mary H or A Beare married William J Williams but I have been unable to find the marriage.

Mary was Living in Marazion in 1881 and she may have been a general servant living in Penzance in 1891 when she was 24. In 1901 she was 34, married and living at North Parade Camborne.

So sometime between 1891 and 1901 she married either in the Penzance registration district or the Redruth District.

Hopefully the marriage will be found as I would like to buy the marriage certificate to see who the witnesses were.

Thank-you.

Hello Maryanne
No luck so far with a marriage - will keep looking.
Do you have her baptism and 1871 census details - if not I can direct you to them.

This perhaps doesn't help much but....
there is this marriage
Jun qtr 1900
St Columb
Mary Ann Beare
Edwin John Williams
5c 163

long shot but maybe the marriage -or 1901 census was mistranscribed???????

Thanks for the reply.

I have the 1871 details from Kindred Connections and I think  this is correct for her on the LDS: 1867-18th December Marianne baptised Penzance parents Jame and Ann Beare.

Thanks for your reply.

I have come across that marriage but I can't see why Mary would be in St.Columb, although at the moment it is the only entry for a Mary Beare.

The next thing that I will have to do is to see if I can find William J Williams in the 1891 census. I think that it states in the 1901 that he was born in Camborne and see if there were any Beare's in the St.Columb area in 1891.

Hi Maryanne
I got the baptism details  from this site - there are various siblings. The baptism was in Gulval but the family was living in Penzance rather than Gulval village.

Still no luck with the marriage - perhaps they did not marry?

Thanks once again.

I am wondering if she married as well.

There are others in the same family I am having trouble find marriages for as well:

Birth 1864-18th Oct. Richards Henry - Punjoe private Baptism. Birth-1880-17th December Annie Marazion and George Birth 29 JAN 1869 Christening 23 JUL 1869 Ludgvan, Cornwall, England

Found on the LDS site.

I have left a copy of this message on the census look-up.

In the 1901 census I have found Mary A Williams age 32 born abt 1869 Marazion with a Wm R Williams age 35 born Camborne in the St Ives administrative district. He was a plasterer journeyman. By 1902 Mary Williams was living in Camborne where Wm Williams was born.

suzard's post regarding a marriage  Jun qtr 1900 St Columb
Mary Ann Beare Edwin John Williams 5c 163 has the correct surname and in Mary's case the right christian name but the christian name of Willams isnt right. :-\

Any help will be appreciated  :)

Just to update.
Cornwall opc.has Mary Beare and Edward John Williams marrying at Newquay in 1900. George Matthews and Ada Williams were witnesses. Ada must be a sister to John but I have no idea who George Matthews is.
The Beare marriages have all been found.
