Dear All,

I'm enquiring to see if there is anybody related to/or recognise George Hodgins.  I've managed to locate his records throughout his life and I have listed them below to assist for any relatives/friends of him:

  • Born in 1869 - England to the parents of Michael Hodgins (Profession: Seaman) and Elizabeth Murphy.
  • Parents married in 1872 in Drogheda
  • Residence at Duleek Street, Louth
  • George was baptised in 1882, St Mary's, Religion: Roman Catholic
  • Enlisted the Irish Royal Rifles for Military Training in 1885-1888
  • Married Margaret Gregory in 1891
  • Resided at Priests Lane, Louth
  • Enlisted with Labour Corps during WW1.  Years of service 1915-1919
  • Moved to Edinburgh post 1920s or 30s.  Had contact with a family by the name of Duffy, particularly a James Duffy and A.Duffy.  Last address is 213 Canongate, Edinburgh
  • Died 20 Jan 1939 and buried in Eastern Cemetery, Edinburgh

Hope this may relate to someone either in Ireland or Scotland.
