Hi hexhamlad.

Welcome to Roots.  :)

Are you able to give a time scale and whether it is possibly Great Brington
rather than Great Broughton you are researching.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, the village is, as you suggest, Great Brington.

My interest in the Stowe family is mainly in Lois Stowe who married my Uncle James McBride in about 1926, he was in service as  a chauffeur to the 6th Earl Spencer at Althorp, having previously served through World war 1 in the Royal Irish Rifles, badly wounded at Paschendale, he recovered and went back to the front line, he sadly died prematurely in 1938.

Hi again.

Well I can see a marriage noted on freebmd in the Jun Qtr of 1925 in the
Brixworth R.D. http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/brixworth.html

James is noted as James P Macbride

Okay I have just found the marriage.

I will list details in awhile if you do not have them.

Lois father was Ernest James Stowe and James father was Thomas.

Lois's mother re-married to Ernest G Boulton in the Jun Qtr of 1920
Brixworth R.D.

It was not at Great Brington though.
