In 1881 she looks to be a domestic servant in Moss Side Lancashire.  Age 21 unmarried.

Here's a possible John Knowles Heathcote/Maggie Walker marriage Chorlton Sep 1882.

Margaret or Maggie Heathcote on census 1891 born 1857 Weaverham Cheshire.
Children William 8 - Morris 6 - Maud 5 - John 2

1901 she is a widow with William K 17 - Maurice 16 - Maude 15 - John 13 - Fred 10 - Margaret 9 - George 4 - Albert 1.

Sorry that was a bit rushed am cooking dinner!  Will add more details later if you think she could be your Margaret  :)

Little bit more.

Death for John Knowles Heathcote age 40 Chorlton Jun 1900.

I can't see the marriage online so you would have to send for the certificate to be sure she is your Margaret and has the correct father.

I might be looking at the wrong one but I can't see where it says Inmate?
Also it has been transcribed as Henry 15 but I think it's actually Fanny as the age is in the girlie column!

On the basis that it's sister Fanny rather than brother Henry if we go back to 1861 we have this little lot, however William has aged somewhat  :-X

William 48
Elizabeth 39
Henry 19
Joseph 15
Mary 12
John 10
Jane 7
Fanny 5
Margret 3
Eliza 1

Hi Milliepede, thanks for that, did you ever come across a daughter for William & Elizabeth called Ann, she was born 1844 Weaverham cum Milton, Cheshire & 1925, she is supposed to have wed a Thomas Lightfoot 1867, this record was past to me last year but I never got around to checking it out.
Thanks again
John
