Mary Ann Brown Marriage and Death?

Hello,
I'm having troubles finding a marriage or a death for a Mary Ann Brown.  She was born on the 28th of January 1901 to Thomas and Margaret Brown (nee Paterson) in Edrom, Berwickshire.  Mary Ann had a child on the 29th of August 1923 who was named Margaret Paterson Brown in Duns, however, there was no father on the birth certificate.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
