Hello,
We have found another newspaper article which is a judgement of a court case regarding several people but most interesting once again Felix Curran, these tenants occupy the whole of the townlands of Ballymena. My question to those that know is Ballymena close to ? Felix Curran's other holdings which were: Griffith's and have found 5 entries for Felix Curran. Four of them are most likely the same man as he has rented a house and land in Drumcrow West and rented herds houses and land with other farmers in Bolusty Beg. AS these townlands abutt one another, the farm being on lower ground and the shared land being higher ground that would make sense. The two townlands are a few miles east of Belleek.
The other Felix rents a house and land  in the townland of Derrychulloo with several other farmers. This was a form of land holding which was dying out by the mid 19th centuary.  (This entry could be the son of Felix who d.1901)

Can some on advise my poor brain! :o

Ta,
Maree Curran

Maree,
I cannot find a townland of Ballymena in Fermanagh but there is a fairly large town of Ballymena about 25 miles NW of Belfast in the county of Antrim. This is nowhere near your townlands in Fermanagh, at least in Irish ideas of distance.

The other Felix Curran (junior) rents a house and land  in the townland of Derrychulloo with several other farmers. This was a form of land holding which was dying out by the mid 19th centuary.  (This entry could be the son of Felix who d.1901) any one know how to find out more about him? Re where he could be buried....

Thanks Tony, we do have this info but we are v confused! As we have now Felix seniors will and it only names his son John Curran and family in Australia! We have also found a will for another son James who left all to his Father farmer Felix senior. So we were hoping to discover more about Felix? junior or his wife, his Father and his own wife are buried in same grave but where is he Felix junior buried??

A Felix Curran of Derrychulloo was mentioned earlier in this thread- perhaps a relative.

The Felix Curran who died in 1889 is mentioned in PRONI's Will index: The Will of Felix Curran late of Magheracar Bundoran County Donegal Farmer who died 23 January 1889 at same place was proved at Londonderry by Robert Blair of Coagh County Fermanagh Farmer and William Ball of Glena Lodge Bundoran County Donegal Ex-postmaster the Executors. Effects £2,695 18s. 4d so quite well off.
