I didn't think of that , would I just email or ring the local paper over there . . It's such a sad story as I'm only 28 and my nanny tells me every time I see her about this . I no we are her family and she don't need anyone else cos she is our world but it would be nice for her to have closure after 80 odd yrs off not knowing

Perhaps you could email the features editor...it is a human interest story and well worth a shot.

The only thing that seems a little bit odd is that the woman she was handed over to already had 4 children, so obviously it wasn't a case of a childless couple wanting a baby.

That does make you think the adoptive mother might be a relative.

Yes I agree - unless of course the adoptive mother had 4 boys and was desperate for a girl, or something like that.

That's what I thought y would a woman with 4 children want another if it wasn't related to her , my nanny said her uncles cAme over to the uk to work and sent money over to her aunty to keep her . I wish I could record my nanny saying it all as it would make it so much easier to understand

My nan said she would go to play at her dad's house with all the other children . As her aunty was married to her dad's sisters brother (the Farrell's ) as well so it's even more interesting . As the dad's wife had child a few months before my nan was born . But at the time my nanny didn't click that was her dad until a few yrs later

Hope you find some answers.  Let us know how you get on.

It would be worth noting down everything Nanny can remember about things.  Sometimes the smallest clue can be vital.
