There's a marriage Q2 1848 in Nottingham - Vol 15 p899. One of the brides is an Emma Anne Leavers

Hello  :)

The Emma Anne Leavers marriage isn't the correct one, she married Herbert John Greenhalgh, 4th May 1848 at Nottingham St Nicholas.

I can't see another candidate... :-\

Is the approx marriage date correct - i can see George and Emma of the right ages on 1871 with youngish children (aged 6 downwards), and a George of the right age in Nottingham on 1861 who is a widower with children. should we be looking in the early 1860s for a marriage to Emma or his first marriage which is probably c1848?

if the former, what about q4 1863, Vol    7b p385 - choice of Emma Cooper or Emma Jane Smith

Hi, Mabel I think you are right  ;)

If it is George Warsop who is a machine builder who is on the 1851 census HO107/ Piece 2133/ Folio 602/ Page  21, then he is married to an Elizabeth.

Marriage - Nottingham St Nicholas - 23rd April 1848
George WARSOP & Elizabeth ELLIOTT

Likely second marriage =

Marriage - Nottingham St Nicholas - 5th Oct 1863
George WARSOP & Emma COOPER
