Hi gang, the writing isn't too bad here but I don't know enough about Liverpool to make it out. SomethingField Street? SomethingHill Street?

Hi chinakay,

It does look like Shaw Hill Street which is still in existence. Do you have the original file or can you send me an ancestry link if it's on there? Reason I ask is that the street above in the listing is Old Hall Street which is quite a way from Shaw Hill Street. Might be best to double check in the whole context - e.g. if it was a census then the census taker is hardly going to do one street and then cross half way across the city and do another are they?

Don't need a crop just the whole file - I'm in the digital image business so can enhance stuff where possible.

Hi Michael, thanks very much for your thoughts but it's a baptismal record from 1793 so entries will be from all over town

Kudos, for once, to the transcriber who was able to read the name Cartmell in this awful scan. The original record must have been in terrible condition because I know they have some great imaging tools available these days.
