William (Wiremu) Ngakurukuru Cassidy and Huihana Penekahi

I am looking to find the story behind the above named union. Some people believe that Huihana is also known as Eliza Jane Leaf (Woods). I know there is a book out there but have not been able to access it. This is the Leaf family reunion book. Other stories say that Huihana is Eliza Jane Woods daughter.

Currently looking for clarity, however I think this story can get more confusing before there will be any clarity

There is this birth to the couple

1913/26616   Cassidy    Hira to   Huihana   and William

Earlier children may not have been registered as it wasn't required for Maori births to be register before 1913

Story about the Leaf Family

Here is a Huihana Ranga as mother of Eliza Jane Leaf (born 1853). I would say if your Huihana married in 1900 she would be Eliza Jane Leafs daughter or named after Eliza's mother (going by what you have been told and the dates)?

Also you say Eliza Jane Leaf with (Woods). http://www.geni.com/people/Eliza-Woods/6000000008410552578  (This tree lists children but not a Huihana (Susannah)) so we still need to hunt up a birthdate for her.

There is also another tree online that refers to your Huihana as "Tuia Hikitia Huihana Pia Penekahi" married to William Ngakurukuru Cassidy (b1865) married 1881 approx not 1900 at Waima. It would be good to get the exact day/date.

I also have family members from the north with European names used on formal papers and the Maori names used in the family papers, it can be confusing alright!
