Manor of Conningbrook court book
« on: Sunday 28 August 11 11:14 BST (UK) »

Does anyone know about the:

Manor of Coningbrook court book

Description  Minutes of the Court Baron of the Manor of Coningbrook alias Kennington in Ashford, Benenden, Bethersden, Biddenden, Elmstead, High Halden, Hawkhurst, Kennington, Pluckley, Smarden and Willesborough [at front of volume, copy licences to enclose part of the manorial waste 1724 - 1748, and index to names of tenants. ]

It's in the CKS catalogue and I'm thinking of having a look as I am researching Ag Lab families that lived in Benenden and Hawkhurst.

Hi Daz

The CKS is preparing for the move to the new building and according to the letter they sent out, from 22nd August customers will only be able to access microfilm and digital records.
If your records are paper/book records you may have to wait until the new building opens in the Spring of next year.
Best ring the CKS and check.

Ooh,

I knew they were doing a film reader service only at the moment, but I didn't realise we would have to wait to the spring for paper records :-(

I was wondering if anyone had ever looked at the Manorial records before.

Hi
I appreciate this post is a few years old but did you eventually manage to view this court book?
