from Orkney Scottish Islands & those who went to Canada, UK, Australia & New Zealand or elsewhere. please.
I will start with John Peace SHEARER b: 1850 Stronsay, Orkney Scottish Islands who sailed to NZ with his brother Peter b: 1848 arriving in 1870. Their parents were Peter SHEARER & Barbara PEACE of Stronsay.
John Peace SHEARER married Margaret GILMOUR b: 1850 Paisley Scotland & they farmed in Ashburton County NZ - & had a large family. Peter later went to Australia to the diamond diggings & died of pneumonia in Sydney.
(Not a great deal is known about Peter as yet)
