Joan ( Jackie ) Crookston of the Tranent Massacre

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has done any research on Joan ( Jackie ) Crookston  who was killed in the Tranent Massacre in 1797, ancestors and descendants, I have tried the IGI for East Lothian but can't see anything.

Someone seems to have included her in their tree.

There was a mention in someone else's blog that she was the sister of one their direct ancestors and she died young leaving 4 young children, and her husband later married a relative.

Should this not be in East Lothian, Tranent is my birthplace and it is definitely East Lothian.

           I put down East lothian on the original post, what were you thinging about ?, we think that a Helen Wood an ancestor of ours may have been a decendant of Joan/Jackie Crookston.

Although you clearly put East Lothian on your original post, this thread is in the Midlothian board. I think that was what Tom meant. I don't know whether it would be worth asking a moderator to move it? Just in case you miss out on an East Lothian specialist!

I had no idea there was a Tranent massacre. I have some people from Tranent in my tree - must do a bit of digging.
