Cicely Obree

Have you got this cert? Or Johns (if he is your direct line)

I think you need one or other to confirm the mothers name and maiden name.

There are some Eliza Cullens in Canterbury but not the right age  :-\

Where do you have Mercy in 1841?

No I don't yet have the birth certificates.

I'm wondering why the entire family vanish after the 1841 census, I'm wondering if there was a change of name at some point but that doesn't explain why Mercy would have married as Mercy Neighbour if that was the case. But yet I can't find any of them at any point after 1841.

Sammy.

Heywood, Mercy was in Cookham in 1841 with parents, Thomas and Elizabeth. Also siblings Samuel, Catherine and Frances known as Fanny.

I couldnt spot the 1841 either, Heywood!

What age is Mercy on that 1841?

Because the Eliza from 1871 was only born in 1841ish.

The Obrees appear to be an established Deal family

Family search has John's chr in 1840 under O'Bree (father Thomas mother Hannah), there is also a John Thomas  chr in 1826 with parents Thomas and Cicely - so I guess they fit is somewhere seeing as "your" lot used Cicely as a name for their daughter.

Foreleaze Lane, Bray, Cookham, Berkshire, England

Thomas Neighbour 34 b Berkshire
Elizabeth Neighbour 40 b Berkshire
Frances Neighbour 17 b Berkshire
Catherine Neighbour 9   b Berkshire
Samuel Neighbour 7 Berkshire
Mercy Neighbour    Berkshire, England

In the 1841 census Mercy has no age recorded which suggest she is under 1. At the marriage in 1866 Mercy is recorded as 24, John as 25, which fits perfectly, also her father is recorded as Thomas Neighbour at the marriage but yet in the 1871 census John is married to Eliza Obree who has the same age as Mercy and their is by this time no Mercy Obree.
