Unfortunately, Meredith born in 1854? (just the year before the start of official registration from 1855) according to some online trees:

6 Apr 1854 is christened at st michaels lnlithgow bo'ness lanarkshire

One other thing, if Ann Hale was born c. 1813, unlikely the later children born well the 1860s were hers given her age?

hmmmm, yes monica, looks like the john was to francis.......and yes also to agnes being past birthing age........... I shall keep searching,
