Meaning of P/L/Sgt?
« on: Thursday 02 October 14 11:02 BST (UK) »
An ancestor in WWII is consistently given a rank of "P/L/Sgt".

I can find "Platoon Sergeant" well documented, but the abbreviation for this is "PL/Sgt".

I can find "Lance Sergeant" well document, but the abbreviation for this is "L/Sgt".

In both the above abbreviations the slash can be a space, or is omitted altogether.

But I can't find any convincing references to the meaning of "P/L/Sgt".

Anyone know?
