poor house record check up please

hi ,all I have is mary marshall nee cartmill died in the city poor house  on the 1 11 1894  aged 80 the poor house was in the st rollox county of Lanarkshire Glasgow  I,d love to know what the  documents say about her  please

Hi you can e-mail the Mitchell Library Glasgow  and get them to check what documents are there and you can get a copy for a small fee ...Or if you live nearby worth a visit

I was in at Glasgow Archives today and had a wee look to see if I could find anything in the Poor Relief Applications Index for your Mary Marshall nee Cartmill, but I couldn't find anything.

Although Mary's place of death was the Poor House, it doesn't necessarily mean she was in receipt of assistance of any sort, she may simply have been in the hospital part.

There are quite a number of Mary Marshalls listed but not knowing your Mary's year or place of birth (I forgot to take note of her age), I had to rely on Cartmill being her 'other' name. (I also looked for Cartmell just in case).
