If thats the right Gardiner family i gave you on the censuses, check out the prison register for William Gardiner born circa 1851/5 Gloucester Place might explain why Norah pretended ??to be a widow in 1901 also his son Patrick born Greggs Lane and a William Duffy born Abbey St ?

You still cant be certain that this is the right family without the marriage cert for William Duffy and Margaret Gardiner.
Norah or Honor Gardiner on the 1901 census is telling porkies with her age as she was married in 1882 she would have to have been at least 20 years old getting married bringing her date of birth back to 1862 or before with a possible birth on Irish Genealogy of 17 Nov 1858 for Honora Lynam dtr of Patrick Lynam and Maria Russell at 2 Belvedere Court.

As regards William Duffy

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Awilliam~%20%2Bsurname%3Aduffy~%20%2Bbirth_place%3A%22abbey%20st%22~&collection_id=2043780

I dont know when or where he was born but one of his court appearences is for absence from his majestys army.

Perhaps the William Duffy living in 10 Upr Tyrone  St in 1909 born 1890 is more likely him as thats the same address for William Gardiner in 1909.https://familysearch.org/search/collection/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Awilliam~%20%2Bsurname%3Aduffy~%20%2Bbirth_year%3A1888-1892~&collection_id=2043780

If the William Duffy in 1909 living in Tyrone St is your grandfather it is unlikely he spent time in prison as the offence was loitering he probably only got fined.
This would have been the year before he got married, what i was trying to do was show you the connection between the address for the Gardiner family and William Duffy perhaps where they met.

As i said earlier without the marriage cert you have no idea if these are the right people.
