Kathy,
Armadale have a big presence online with their own History pages, here is a small
example which mentions Bathville Cottages next to the Brickworks which became "Etna Cottages"
I myself remember seeing "Etna" bricks in local buildings.

Kathy,
That is the road where Etna cottages stood and some still exist today so yes those old ones will be your cottages. Also don't forget to click on Shops & Businesses to see if your shop is listed, plenty of old photos there too.

James.

There's a really good photo of Bathville (the area of Armadale where a lot of the industry was) here on the RCAHMS website. :) http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/213781/details/armadale+bathville+atlas+brick+works/

Yes this is a good image.  These cottages would have comprised of two rooms I am told. Annie McMaster had her wee shop in the front room.
