The Florence Nightingale Nursing Home was located in Kotze Street (between Hospital Street and King George Street) in Hospital Hill, Johannesburg. Hospital Hill is know called Constitution Hill.

Hi Linda,
Posts are not deleted when completed as someone may come along looking for sinilar info. What you can do for me though is to edit the heading and then type COMPLETED in the heading line. Which is the posting? Would you like me to do it for you?

Hi Linda.

I am not sure whether the Nursing Home is still operating but I plan to go into Johannesburg this week and, if so, I will pop in and find out if they are still in operation and where the records are kept, if at all.

Hi Linda,

I have spoken to a friend of mine who is a nurse that trained at the Florence Nightingale Nursing Home. She has confirmed that the Nursing Home closed down in the late 1970's and was converted into a block of flats (apartments). We are going to try to find out what happened to their records and I will let you know. Perhaps you could let us have the name of your Great Uncle and we could see what we can find for you.
