Based in Australia I am unfamiliar with South Africa resources for researching family history. I am trying to trace a deceased Australian relative Edith May CROOK (nee WYATT, formerly CRONIN). It is known that she left Australia for South Africa during the early 1950's.
Edith was born in 1885, which would make her approximately 65 years of age when she left Australia. It is not known if she was travelling alone or with a companion. Edith might have travelled under her maiden name WYATT, or her surname from her first marriage CRONIN.
Any assistance with guiding me to the available resources will be greatly appreciated.
