Last trip on the Midland & S.W. Junction Railway
« on: Thursday 18 September 14 18:32 BST (UK) »
The last trip in 1961 went from Swindon to Andover, back again and on to Cheltenham before returning. The steam engine pulling the train was 5306. Is there anyone with the right sort of books who can give the specification of this engine? Thanks. T

My husband says it was an ex-Great Western Railway 2-6-0 (Mogul) tender loco

Edit - There is a photo of the engine on page 164 of Midland and South Western Junction Railway Vol 1 by David Bartholomew published by Wild Swan 1982
