Hi,

I had a quick look in the Toronto newspapers and I don't see a visit from the Duke of Wellington in the time period you mentioned.

Thanks RK & Malkey. I'm beginning to think the family story has been "stretched". ;) The Dec 1904 appointment of the Governor General looks like the closest possibility. Thanks again to all.
