Long family at (or near) Ardeley
« on: Sunday 08 June 14 20:49 BST (UK) »
Hi
I wonder if anyone can give any info about the Longs, who I think lived at Ardeley or thereabouts at the end of the 18th century?  In particular I'm looking for an Ann Long who married William Boorman in Southwark in 1820

Thanks
Maggott

There is a marriage for a Mary Long and William Alfred Boorman 13 September 1820 in Southwark
Also a tree for this same Mary born 1787 in Ardeley Herts

Hi Rosie & thank you for your reply.
Any idea how I can access Ann Long's tree? (Sorry to sound hopeless).  I'm OK with he generations after the marriage to William Boorman, but the earlier family are still a mystery

Most Trees seem to be incredibly mixed up to me!
No census for Mary at all;

This is her I think in 1861;
Mary BOORMAN, 63 (1798), Sister, Widow, Formerly Housekeeper, born Bradeley (sic), Hertfordshire
Living with ? LONG, whose age is not on page or pob
RG9/822/63/17
1851 prob a Widow, born c 1798 Yardley, Hertfordshire, living in Tewin, Herts

Sorry, got to away to bed :)

Hi Trish & thank you for your message.
I must look into this one - I had thought/been told that Mary B died in Cromer (near Ardelely), but if I'm wrong, it won't be the first time :)
