1851...All showing as born in Ireland:

Helen Gilmour 62
John Gilmour 25 bricklayer
Charles Gilmour 23 joiner...so likely the 1861 above is correct?
Robert Gilmour 21 baker
Mary Gilmour 19 Bonnet Maker
Thomas Gilmour 17 plumber
Jane Winsburry 17 lodger b. England

Address: 19 Saltmarket St Glasgow

Can we do a summary please!

Ellen McLauchlin/ Gilmour: We think died in 1854 and buried at Old Dalbeth Cemetery. Have you looked at the entry on the CPR on SP? Married to a William Gilmour (no info on him other that deceased by 1851).

Son John Gilmour b. c. 1825 in Ireland and married Rose Ann Hendry in Ireland in 1853. Travelled to US for work late 1800s and died in Glasgow in 1908....YOUR LINE  ;)

Son Charles Gilmour b. c. 1828 in Ireland and married Ann Anderson. Died 1886 in Glasgow.

The missing ones:

Son Robert b. c. 1830 in Ireland showing as a baker in 1851...nothing further on him really. Possible other Roberts are being discounted...

Daughter Mary b. c. 1831 in Ireland...nothing further for her so far...

Son Thomas b. c. 1834 in Ireland: possible marriage in 1859 in England and further info on him to be confirmed.

Not sure we have moved much more so far from your original question except for a possibility for Thomas and discounting what you had as so far for Robert  :-\

Monica, that is why I am finding it very frustrating. Usually Scotlands People is very good for things but when you are dealing with such a common name it can cost a fortune which is what I am trying to avoid. I appreciate all the help and if you think of anything else just let me know. Kim
