Who, Lilian or Florence, I can't find either, although I have found a Lillian Davies living as a boarder in 1901, but not sure, still can't find Florence, how can she miss three censuses!

Struggling to find a Florence who could fit the bill, I've searched using wildcards to allow for mis-spelling Flor*nce Davi*s but so far no luck  :-\

There is a Lilly Davies b. 1883 Liverpool in 1901 in Kirkdale as servant/housekeeper to the Read family.   RG13, 3467, Fol 126, Pg 21.

Added later: Now trying with Flo* Davi*s to allow for Flo/Florrie/Florry
Robbins - Wolverhampton.
Spooner - Monmouthshire & Wolverhampton.
Warner & Loundes - Dudley/West Bromwich.
Dod(g)son - Heysham/Liverpool/Wolverhampton

I know, I have been trying to find her for months, it is so frustrating, especially as she was a bit of a mystery anyway, but Thankyou for trying! :)

SallyAnn

you say your Mother registered her death.....the death index just gives her birth as 'about 1884'...is there any evidence that the birth date of 24 December 1886 was known before you saw the birth certificate someone else has on their tree?  I'm just wondering if it is at all possible that Edward and Elizabeth are the wrong parents and that's why Florence is never with them.

Did your Mother know about Caroline, Emily, Lily etc?  ....any Davies relatives? There is no marriage so no confirmation of Florence's father's name.  Are there any family papers that may confirm her parents were Edward and Elizabeth?  Just an idea.

Sue

Now I have thought about it, you are right, I have no proof that that is her birth certificate, any ideas how I can find out the Christian name of the miss Davies living at walden, borrowdale road, moreton, it was July 1931, and it appears the aunt ran a shop.

You could try looking at the Electoral Register at the record office....there will be lots of Davies I'm sure but you have an address.

Have you been in contact with the Blackburn family tree on Ancestry?  Joan Blackburn has lots of sources and certificates but no census for Florence M.  Ask her how does she know for certain she has the right parents for Florence....maybe she has family information that you don't have.

There is a Florence M DAVIES 16 born Liverpool c1885 living in Birkenhead with parents Frank and Annie and other daughter Elsie 15 in 1901.  Father Frank was born Liverpool and on earlier census lived in Everton.
