« on: Monday 14 April 14 07:42 BST (UK) »
I'd like a look up please for a Mary STEWART, aged 36 born Fife and in Dunfermline in 1891.

Also for a David SCOTLAND, a widower, aged 38, with children in Dunfermline in 1891.

Thanks,

Fred

Hello Joy,

Thank you very much.

That would be the right one for David.

Mary born 24 Feb 1857 Dunfermline with family in 1881:

1881
Registration District: Dunfermline
Civil Parish: Dunfermline
County: Fife
Address: 22 Martyns Place
David Stewart  Head 59  Slater  Dunfermline
Euphemia  dau 26  Hosekeeper  Dunfermline
Mary  dau 24  Factory worker  Dunfermline
Kate  dau 22  Factory worker  Dunfermline

and not with family in 1891 and with spouse David SCOTLAND in 1901.

1901
Registration Number: 424
Registration District: Dunfermline
Civil Parish: Dunfermline
Town: Dunfermline
County: Fife
ED: 23
Roll: CSSCT1901_135
Household schedule number: 261
Address: 43 1/2 Golfdrum St
David Scotland  Head 47  Power Loom Tenter  Dunfermline, fifeshire
Mary Scotland  Wife 45
William Scotland 17
Mary Scotland 15
David Scotland 12
John Scotland 10
James Scotland 3
Barbara Stewart 42

David was a widower, his first wife being Jane, so only James is Mary's child.

So I would think Mary would be a lodger or boarder in 1891.  I didn't count on two roughly the same age. I should have searched more being a common name.

Fred

My Mary born 1857 Dunfermline has no sister Barbara and her mother Elizabeth died in 1872.

I'd like a look up please for the David SCOTLAND from the 1891 census in 1881.

David SCOTLAND & Mary STEWART
Marriage: 1891 Dunfermline, Fife

I believe that is the Mary born 1857 in the 1881 census at Martyns Pl who married David.

I don't know if that is before or after the 1891 census. David is either still a widower and Mary has yet to be found in 1891 or David is married and spouse Mary is elsewhere or missing from that household.

Thanks,

 Fred
