CD,
I wondered if your Donnelly family were from Drumard, Maghera. I have the details of a family taken from the 1851 census.

Regards
Stewart, Irwin, Morrison, Haslett, Murrell - Dungiven area Co. Londonderry
Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim

Hi kingskerswell

Thanks for the heads-up.  My family are from Kirley and not Drumard.

Hi All,
Since receiving all your replies I have been trying to apply the logic in the article suggested by Sinann to the Townland of Park in Galway. I would appreciate your comments as to whether my conclusions are correct or rubbish!!! I have attached two images of the GV for Park in Galway.

My conclusions are:
1. That there is probably a family relationship between Thomas Keady and James Audley as they amost always share land with each other.

2. That field areas 11 and 12 are Rundales

Thanks in anticipation of your comments

Regards
Brian Audley

Hi aubdr

I would be interested in what othes think - but I would also conclude that these were Rundales

However, the 'fields' you speak of are turbery :)  that is to say it is peat. You probably know that this is what people used to heat their homes/cook etc.  So perhaps these named people for 'fields' 11 &12 are all part of the same community rather than all related.

Hi california dreamin,

Thanks for your reply.
I was not sugesting that all the people in 11 & 12 were related but I was suggesting that Thomas Keady & James Audley are related as they share field references 1A; 1B; 1C; 3Ba and 10 as well as both being in references 11&12.

Regards
Brian

Yes, I did understand your comment about Keady & Audley.  I was just making a comment about why so many people may be in a rundale to do with the turbery. Perhaps I was too clumsy with my phrasing   :-X
