« on: Friday 23 May 14 12:53 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have a relation whose address is recorded in 1908 as:-

Boscombe Court, Bossoney, Bournemouth

I cannot find Bossoney when googling, which I assumed is a district or village but nothing comes up, please could anyone provide any information?

Thanks

I googled Boscombe Court Bournemouth 1908, and it came up with a book about the Oscar Slater murder story.  It seems that Bossoney existed, but I've never heard of it (I grew up in Bournemouth).

Thank you, I think then maybe it is the Christchurch Road Boscombe Court and instead of a number, that 'Bossoney' was perhaps the name of their house?

Obviously it seems Boscombe Court is no longer there and has been demolished and built over at some stage.

I have found that there was bad WW2 bombing in Bournemouth in May 1943 and maybe thats when it went?

If your query was because of the court case mentioned the McCall family were still in Boscombe Court, Bournemouth in 1911 on the census

Dr. Anthony McCall and his wife Mary Greer McCall with their daughter, visitor and staff
The address is just Boscombe Court but the house could well have had a name
as it is described as having 14 rooms

Perhaps Bossoney was an alternate local name for Boscombe?
