what happened to james ?

can anyone find what happened to james morrison baptised 26 / 8 / 1811 at chester le street durham, parents william and elizabeth morrison , i have looked for him in 1841 census and couldnt find him i have also looked for a marriage and death but still found nothing on him , can anyone help ?

Looks as though the parents stayed in Chester le Street until they died so that gives no clues as to whether James may have gone off elsewhere. I see that James had several siblings. Have you tracked them to see if any moved off to other areas?

Have you ruled out the two James Morrison deaths in 1847 and 1850 in Chester le Street?

yes i ave tracked all his sibblings down and they stayed close by or died in infantsy but cant find nothing on james the first born

i found the deathes in 1847 /50 but couldnt make a connection to my james because if either one was mine then i would find them in 1841 census

Not necessarily. He might have been away somewhere in 1841 and returned a few years later.

Closest I can find in 1841 is one in Gateshead age 25. If you have exhausted all other possibilities then it may also be worth looking at the 1841 Scottish census to see if he may have gone looking for work north of the border.

i have looked at the 1841 census and the collum where it says where born has a N but i did notice there was a margaret morrison age 1,1/2 yr so if that child was james,s why cant i find a marriage for james

Have you considered that he may have emigrated?

A James Morrison aged 29 departed Liverpool & arrived New York on 7 Sep 1840 aboard the St. Lawrence. Unfortunately there are no images so no further information but might be worth looking into?
