Hi Seymour, if you'd like me to treat that as a content request, I'd be happy to pass that on to the digitisation team.

I would be thrilled if you could. The book may be finished and printed, but second editions are never out of the question!

Cheers.

Hi all, this is just to let you know that we've got some more Otago papers coming up in the next month or two.
Also, a clever ex-colleague, positively disposed toward newspapers, has whipped up a very cool list of New Zealand titles based on NZ library catalogue data that I thought you all might be interested to have a quick look at.

http://nznewspapers.appspot.com

It will give you an idea of how many titles there are, compared to how many are digitised and available online, and will give you a handy list of newspapers by location. If there are any particular titles of interest, let us know :) Not to suggest that we can digitise them straight away of course (or even at all, where copies no longer exist) - but we like to be able to select titles that are going to be of use to people, so any feedback helps us heaps.
Also, if there are any papers not on this list that you know existed (especially if you have copies!), then the library and research communities of NZ would love to know.

Cheers!

WOW !  Well-done, to your ex-colleague.  :)   A "very cool list" indeed ... and most helpful.  :)

Thanks for sharing it with us PapersPast.   :)

Hello,

What an interesting list!

I was amazed to read that there were 58!! Dunedin newspapers.

Would be wonderful if you could consider digitising the "Waikouaiti & Shag Valley Herald, the "Morning Herald" and the "Colonist".

Am looking forward with much interest to the release of more Otago newspapers in the near future.

Thank you for all your hard work. It is very much appreciated.

Wow, I would almost lobby to digitise the Waikouaiti & Shag Valley Herald on the basis of its fantastic title alone.

No problem Minniehaha - consider your suggestions formally noted.

No doubt this shows my age, but I had not thought of anything other than the bird of that name  ::)  ::)

By the way, the area still has that name............  ;D

They're pretty cool birds - that's why I like the title!
