Short Corville Road (Roscrea) - Place name Inquiry
« on: Sunday 05 January 14 13:40 GMT (UK) »
I have come across a Short family who resided on Corville Road (just east of Roscrea) during the 1860s.  I later noticed on another map that a portion of the Corville Road has been name Short Corville Road.  I was wondering if a portion of this road may have been renamed in connection with the Short family or is the road simply "short" as in a short cut.

I am hoping anyone familiar with Roscrea history might know?

I have no knowledge of Ireland except the research I have done on my Short family from this region.  My Short family had land in Wingfield not far from Shinrone.
