You would expect to see a fathers name on a mariage cert so that seems to infer she was born illegitimately.

There are 2 surnames for Mary given in the marriage index, how is her full name recorded?

I thought Mary was born 1920 (death index). Anyway she may have been born before her mother married

Marys Date of Birth on her death cert is for 1920 - so looks like she fibbed when she got married lol
